With these 10 tips, your coloring takes longer

Would you like to keep your coloring for a long time? No problem: from the proper shampoo to the final touch, here we show you our best tips.

We gladly spend money on dyeing our hair, but we also want the color to last as long as possible. Because the coloring is only worth the money spent if it is not gone after a few days! There are very simple tips with which you can extend the color of your hair by a few weeks. Discover the top 10 here!

Wash dyed hair properly

The color can lose its intensity much more quickly if you do not wash your hair properly. Follow these 5 tips when making your shampoo to be sure not to wash off the color.

Shampoo only 24 hours after coloring/dyeing

Freshly colored pigments need time to attach to the hair. Therefore, you must absolutely wait 24 hours after the coloring treatment before washing your hair again.  you may read also this fix hair color

Wash your hair less often
Even without this, shampoos have a great influence on the colorfastness. Do not wash your dyed hair too often, especially if you are wearing a bright tone or have had a significant color change.

Use the right shampoo

Dyed hair needs adequate shampoo. For bright colors, you should absolutely use a coloring shampoo, for blond hair it is a moisturizing or nourishing shampoo. For brown hair, a coloring shampoo may be ideal, but, if the color differs only slightly from your natural color you are free to choose and use a shampoo that goes with your hair type.

Shampoo only at the root

Many women wash their hair badly. Because the tips should not be covered with foam during shampooing. It is important, especially for hair that has just been dyed, to apply the shampoo at the root and to massage it into the hair. The tips are sufficiently washed when the shampoo is rinsed.

Coldwater to finish

Here is a little secret that our grandmothers already knew, even if dyeing hair was not as common and was not done with such vibrant colors at that time. At the end of each shampoo or treatment, rinse the hair with cold water. This closes the cuticle and thus fixes the color in the hair.

Care and styling for colored hair
The color pigments are placed deep inside the hair. The coloring must, therefore, penetrate deep into the hair and store the pigments there. The important thing for the care of dyed hair is that the cuticle remains tightly closed. Color pigments can no longer escape.

Seal the color with a detangler

The detanglers have been specially designed to "seal" the hair. To prolong the hold of the color, a detangler is therefore essential. Detanglers for dyed hair can even contain silicones because they trap color particularly well. But beware: there are silicones and silicones! Make sure that the silicones used are of excellent quality as in professional detanglers. Here you can find more details on silicones in hair products.

Protect hair from heat when styling

Styling devices are another reason why color can fade faster. The hair is indeed damaged by heat and the color can leave more quickly. Heat protection is therefore compulsory. As the color can already pass with brushing, we recommend that you apply Discipline - Keratin Thermique heat protection from Kérastase to towel-dried hair.

Protect them from the sun

The sun can also harm the coloring. UV rays can indeed penetrate the hair and destroy the pigments. With an anti-UV spray, you can prevent this phenomenon. It is enough to spray the hair each time directly before sunbathing so that the color is protected.

Refresh the coloring at home
If you followed the previous advice, your hair is now perfectly protected against fading. But what happens if the first gray hair appears at the root or if the color, despite all your efforts, fades slowly? Again, we have prepared some good tips for you.

Hide the roots with Root Concealer

Root Concealer is your absolute lifesaver if roots or small gray hair appear. Root Concealer exists as a spray or powder. It is sprayed or dabbed on the roots and the product holds until the next shampoo.

Intensify the color with a Color Conditioner

The Color Conditioner is a wonderful product to refresh hair coloring. These detanglers contain few colored pigments, which attach to the outside of the hair and thus revive the color. Whether your hair is blonde, brown or red, there is Color Conditioners in all colors and you can also compensate for unsightly shades with them, such as when your hair "tends" to yellow or red.
